Dr. Ying Zhu

Associate Professor in the Creative Media Industries Institute and an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at GSU. He directs the AR/VR research in CMII and his research areas are 3D computer graphics, VR/AR, data visualization, and HCI. Before joining GSU, he was a Senior Software Engineer at CA Technologies and was part of the team that developed Vega Prime, a software package widely used in the industry for 3D simulation and training.

Dr. Zhisheng Yan

Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology at George Mason University. He has a unique background in mobile computing, wireless networks, and visual computing, and is highly experienced in building networked systems for image/video applications. He is the recipient of ACM SIGMM Outstanding Thesis Award, University at Buffalo CSE Best Dissertation Award, ACM HotMobile 2018 Best Demo Award, and IEEE HealthCom 2014 Best Student Paper Runner-up.

Dr. Rafal Angryk

Professor in the Computer Science Department at GSU, with affiliate appointments in the Department of Physics Astronomy, and J. Mack Robinson School of Business. He is the founding director of GSU Data Mining Lab. His interests lie in the broad areas of Big Data and Data Science, especially on scientific image analytics. He has published over 130 journal articles, book chapters and peer-reviewed conference papers in these areas. His research has been sponsored by NASA, NSF, NGA, and industry.

Dr. Saeid Belkasim

Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at GSU. He is a well-known researcher in the broad area of image processing, especially in image compression and shape recognition. He started his publications in this area in the late 80s and early 90s. His research publications have been cited in several books, theses and over 1900 refereed international journals and conference proceedings. Some of his published techniques have been used as benchmarks by other researchers in the field.

Mr. James Martin

Consultant at Reallusion, Inc. and a Professor of Practice at CMII. He has expertise on AR/VR, animation, and motion capture. He was honored to be the Motion Capture Lead on "Replicas" from Lotus Entertainment, starring Keanu Reeves and Thomas Middleditch. His current work at Georgia State University and in CMII focuses on training students with motion capture hardware XSens and Perception Neuron Motion Capture Suits/MVN Studio and Axis Neuron Motion Capture software.
